Welcome to Soneva Kiri by Six Senses, Koh Kood (off Koh Chang), Trat, Thailand. Remote but accessible aptly describes the Thai island of Kood, on which Soneva Kiri is set amidst the lush tropical rainforest, off the south-east coast of the Gulf of Siam. International guests are personally met on arrival at Bangkok’s Suvarbuhmi airport and transferred to the resort’s own airplane for the one-hour flight to the Soneva Kiri airfield. From the air, the beauty of untouched Thailand and Koh Kood, with its white sandy beaches is immediately evident.

No News No Shoes
Soneva Kiri is relaxed and casual. The all-year-round, comfortable, tropical temperature requires only light and natural fabrics so Polo-style shirts, summer dresses and sarongs are ideal. Shoes are not practical on the soft sand or on the paths, so bring sandals or simply enjoy barefoot freedom. Laundry service is offered, but there is no dry cleaning.

Leisure Activities - Soneva Kiri, Thailand
For guests of Soneva Kiri, there is a wealth of activities on offer. The beautiful island of Koh Kood offers nature experiences, from time at local waterfalls to guided jungle treks to speedboat, snorkelling excursions, fishing tours and mountain biking. There is a wide selection of water sports on offer, which include catamaran sailing, water skiing, wake boarding and snorkelling at resort’s private South Beach. A fully equipped PADI dive and training centre has qualified instructors to teach and accompany guests to the most spectacular reefs and diverse underwater life in the region.

Full day and half-day trips are on offer to visit the marine extravaganzas around Koh Rang Lek, Koh Mak, Koh Kood and other neighboring islands. These are ideal for both beginner divers and the more experienced. Day trips include picnic lunch and equipment and professional supervision.

Private excursions have been designed to give guests unforgettable experiences. Bespoke excursions can be arranged by private plane, helicopter and the resort’s luxury speedboat Aquasense. Discover world renowned locations such as Angkor Wat in nearby Cambodia, play golf on the excellent courses in the region or enjoy some of the best scuba diving in the world.

Excursions are available to the nearby island of Mai Si to visit the source of the organic honey offered at Soneva Kiri, and the cultured pearl farms are interesting and informative diversions. For the romantically inclined, sunrise and sunset cruises, with a little bubbly of course, are beautiful experiences. Many activities are onhand within the resort. For those intent on keeping fit, there is a tennis court and a Technogym and kinesis fitness centre. For those wishing to be less energetic, gardening and haute cuisine classes are available. For those who dream of the ultimate sensory journey, there is a world-renowned Six Senses Spa. And retail therapy is available at the Six Senses Gallery.

Evenings offer star-gazing and astronomy classes at Soneva Kiri’s very own beautiful observatory, or a bout of silver-screen nostalgia at Cinema Paradiso, where classic movies are shown on an immense screen in the outdoor, starry auditorium and guests are served cocktails, popcorn and gourmet cinema fast-food whilst watching the film from the raised tiers of seats under the stars. Wine tastings in the well-stocked cellar are also a popular evening diversion. Designed by 24H-architecture, the Den is the special domain of younger guests, and under professional supervision they will find a host of entertaining possibilities in the most
fanciful surroundings imaginable.

How to get there
When you disembark at Bangkok International Airport, you will be greeted by a Soneva Kiri respresentative, who will escort you and your party to the First Class lounge to refresh. Flights from Bangkok board the resort’s luxurious custom-fitted eight-seater Cessna Grand Caravan for the sixty minutes flight to Soneva Kiri’s own airport, located on an adjoining island. From there it is just a 2-kilometre trip by luxury speed boat to the arrival pier.

Upon landing, guests are greeted by their Mr or Ms Friday - who will be on hand during the entire stay – and escorted on the five-minute Aquasense power-boat crossing from the airfield. Upon stepping ashore and a warm welcome, a short electric buggy ride arrives at the oversized pool villa, which is a testament to environmental responsiveness and intelligent luxury. The buggy is a private discovery vehicle during the guest’s stay. There is also a self-sustaining Eco Villa for those wishing to be on the cutting edge of innovation and the Six Senses Evalution programme.
