Golden Rock: 2 Days/1 Night Yangon / Golden Rock / Bago / Yangon

Golden Rock, locally called Kyaikhtiyo means “ The pagoda carried on the head of a hermit”. The pagoda is just 182 km to Camp Kim Pun – where this trip starts. Kyaik Htee Yo pagoda is on the highest peak(1102 meter above sea level) of Paung Laung mountain ranges – 12 km from base camp kimpun. Kyaik Htee Yo is probably the second most famous and revered pagoda in Myanmar. On the very top is a small stupa consecrated and enshrined with three hairs of Buddha. The pagoda is really marvelous in its precarious position. It seems to be defying the force of gravity as it hangs from the spur of a cliff. One big reason for the popularity of the pilgrimage to the Kyaik Htee Yo pagoda is the highly refreshing and exhilarating climb due to the stretch of mountain scrambling through the lush rain forest, towering hills with rippling streams and greenery around. Actually the whole area has fully magical enchanting scenes.

Day 1	YANGON - Golden Rock (B/L/D)
	An early morning pick-up from your hotel in Yangon, and drive to the trail-head at the base of Kyaikthiyo Mountain. Then board on an open-air truck for the hour’s drive up the mountainside. Walk the final part of the climb (about 45 minutes) to the Golden Rock Pagoda. Another way to the pagoda is to walk the whole way up the lightly wooded hillside from the trail-head to the Golden Rock Pagoda. The walk is particularly scenic and takes about five hours. Lunch at a local restaurant. Dinner and overnight at a hotel near the hill top.
Day 2	Golden Rock - BAGO - YANGON (B/L)
	Breakfast at the hotel, then proceed to Bago : visit Shwemawdaw Pagoda and take a short walk to Hinthagon hill-top, then continue to see the Moat and Gate-way to the 16th Century city of Hanthawaddy. Continue visit to Shwethalyaung Reclining Buddha and Kyaikpun Pagoda. Then return to Yangon and arrive in the early evening. Lunch at a local restaurant.
